improving our community

together

The Gibson Area Service Association
is an organization created to servethe needs of the people
and communities of the GCMS School District.

What is GASA?

The Gibson Area Service Association is an organization created to serve the needs of the people and communities of the GCMS School District. After a long and proud history of affiliation with Rotary International, current members chose to narrow the focus of our service to the local area. The Gibson City Rotary formally disbanded at the conclusion of the 2023 calendar year and GASA, a 501c organization, started operation in January, 2024.

A spirit of service and volunteerism continues as the centerpiece of the new organization. Club members are committed to improving the circumstances for those that share our community. All dues and donations are spent locally. Membership is open to anyone who supports that mission and is divided into two categories, Active and Supporting. An Active Member will attend activities and meetings with voting privileges whereas a Supporting Member is a financial benefactor and is welcome to the annual meeting of members.

New members are accepted at any time and donations are always welcome. A calendar of activities and minutes of meetings can be found on our website.

Our Projects

GASA is looking forward to working with groups or individuals on projects to improve our community. We are looking forward to working on projects small and large that benefit youth, the elderly, or the community. Please use  the Project Request form to request your project. The project will be reviewed by our board and brought to the members for a final vote. We will contact you with additional questions and request that you or your organization attend the membership meeting to present your project and respond to any questions.

Past Rotary Project

North Park Playground

GASA intends to look or projects that improve the life of our community. As an example, the Rotary Club of Gibson City is very proud of the makeover that they gave to the North Park playground. As we look to the past Rotary Club as our inspiration, we hope to continue making improvements in our community that benefit all of the local community. Please watch the short video to see the impact the North Park makeover has had in Gibson City.
